Medium to deep garnet-purple in color. Gives up notes of red currants and fresh strawberries with touches of bay leaves and tilled soil. Light to medium-bodied, the palate is lean and chewy with moderate acidity and a grippy finish.

Majors on redcurrant fruits, chalky tannins, rose bud and capsicum, there is vivacity through the palate and a mouthwatering finish with high acidities. Blend given is plantings not vintage, 15hl/ha yield.

Inside Bordeaux

The 2023 Coufran is deep garnet-purple in color. It leaps with bold notes of black raspberries and juicy strawberries, plus suggestions of dried sage, crushed rocks, and mossy tree bark. The light to medium-bodied palate is lively and chewy, with herbs-laced red berry flavors and a refreshing finish.

Intense, plenty of upfront impact, striking just how contrasting is the nature of 2021 and 2022 at this property. Velvety texture, a ton of damson fruits, with seductive appeal that speaks to the hot summer which they have done a good job of harnessing rather than being overwhelmed by. Touches of heat on the finish though.

The 2021 Coufran, made mainly from Merlot, is deep garnet-purple in color. Notes of red and black plums jump from the glass, followed by wafts of wild sage and dusty soil. The light-bodied palate is refreshing and clean, with chewy tannins and an herb-laced finish.

The 2020 Coufran, 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc, is deep garnet-purple in color. It slips easily out of the glass with up-front scents of juicy black plums, kirsch, and boysenberries, plus hints of cloves, nutmeg, and dark chocolate. The medium-bodied palate delivers mouth-coating black fruits with a velvety texture and just enough freshness, finishing with a spicy lift.
