Deep garnet-purple colored. Starts off with fragrant notes of rose bud tea and fallen leaves, giving way to a core of red plums and black raspberries with a waft of dried herbs. The light to medium-bodied palate delivers a sturdy frame of firm tannins and lovely freshness, finishing on a savory note.

Subdued aromatics on the opening, carefully placed fruit, a touch of grilled oak, some spiky acidity on the finish. Harvest 24 September to 5 October. 30% new oak, with everything in 500l casks. Organic certified. 

Inside Bordeaux

The 2023 L'Enclos is deep garnet-purple in color. Notes of black cherries, boysenberries, and redcurrants pop from the glass, followed by hints of cardamom and tar. The medium-bodied palate is soft, juicy, and plush, with nice rounded tannins and an earthy finish. The blend is 75% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Malbec.

Composed of 88% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Malbec, the 2022 L'Enclos is deep garnet-purple in color. Notes of stewed plums, dried cherries, and fruitcake spill from the glass with hints of tar and dried sage. The medium-bodied palate is a little flat and dull, with chewy tannins and an abrupt finish.

Denise and Stephen Adams of Fonplégade are also owners of this excellent Pomerol estate that is packed with ripe blackberry and damson fruit, cocoa dusting, well judged extraction, serious and confident tannins with supple velvety tannins. 40% new French oak for ageing.

Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2019 L'Enclos has a nose of damp soil, charcoal, and cedar, leading to a core of redcurrant preserves and juicy blackberries with a touch of dried herbs. The medium to full-bodied palate is chewy and savory, with appealing freshness and an herbal lift on the finish.

L’Enclos 2018 is deep garnet purple in color. It gives up notes of Morello cherries, blackberry preserves, and roses, plus hints of tree bark, cracked pepper, and nutmeg. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is firm and chewy, with a bit of a dip in the mid-palate and a hard finish.
