My first encounter with this recently crafted expression of Avize. 

Fermented and aged for a year in casks and vats. Second fermentation and bottle aging for 5-6 years. 

Light golden. Not the best glasses for this tasting but a slim steady stream of tiny bubbles supports a fine mousse and a pleasant mouthfeel. 

A distinct oxidative and rich style. Needs 20-30 mins in the glass to open up and reveal a plethora of lime, citrus and some oak-infused aromas. 

This bottle felt like it was unfocused and pointing in several directions. With some more time in bottle I believe this will come together in a better way.
