Enticing aromatics on the nose, fennel and grilled almond curls, followed by savoury cassis and bilberry fruit. Plenty of tannic grip and lift, an enjoyable wine that manages to deliver ripe fruit without overly austere tannins, good for drinking over next 10 to 15 years. Inside Bordeaux

A blend of 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot, and 2% Petit Verdot, the 2021 Deyrem Valentin is medium to deep garnet-purple in color. It has delicate notes of kirsch and cranberry jelly, with touches of wild thyme and cedar. The light to medium-bodied palate has subtle red berry flavors, with chewy tannins and a lively backbone, finishing a little woody.

Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2023 Deyrem Valentin has a nose of stewed redcurrants and strawberry preserves with hints of fried herbs, damp soil, and black pepper. The medium-bodied palate delivers crunchy red berry flavors with a firm, chewy texture and savory finish. The blend is 72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 26% Merlot, and 2% Petit Verdot.

Silky tannins, edges of violet and peony flowers, firm tannins, a little drying or certainly extremely savoury, good quality ripe fruits, has grip and tension through the mid palate. Hubert de Boüard consultant. 50% new oak barrels for ageing.

Dark brambled fruits, impressively supple tannins, the oak influence is a little evident in its addition of smoke and a tight character through the mid palate, but this offers plenty of bang for your buck, and is highly enjoyable. 50% new oak, owned by the Sorge family, located in the commune of Soussans.

Clear liquorice, more so than in the other 2016s in the lineup, with tannic build up and smoky oak influence, dark pepper spice, edges of soy and umami. Damson and black cherry fruits, exuberant, a little overly intrustive in its grilled character that takes away some Margaux signature but an enjoyable wine.
