Tight and tannic, goes long on austerity, this is a full of bright black fruits, a little high in acidity on the finish but a quality value estate. The owner here, by the way, is M. Bardet in Vignonet, a small estate next to the Dordogne river with more clay than most of Vignonet, and the man who invented the Tribaie machine which measures sugar density of grapes and was absolutely sought after and celebrated in 2021!

Inside Bordeaux

The 2021 du Paradis has a deep garnet-purple color. It opens with notes of juicy raspberries and black cherries, followed by hints of violets, star anise, and hoisin. The medium-bodied palate has a chewy texture and well-knit freshness supporting the black berry flavors, finishing with a spicy kick.

Stalky fruit and dominant oak, maybe the sample. Bardet family in Vignonet, 30% new oak.

Powerful tannins on the opening, this has a well balanced opener that pushes through the tannins and lifts off, but struggles to maintain this momentum, heading into roasted coffee, with bitter cocoa bean edges, a little thin through the mid palate.
