Starts off with attractive aromatics and finesse, but struggles to maintain momentum and the tannins are a little rustic through the finish, not quite carrying the redcurrant and raspberry fruit. Inside Bordeaux

Vibrant ruby, with leafy and fragrant deep cassis fruits on the nose and attack, consistent and cheerful, a little soft on the finish, hard to build intensity in 2024, but there are fresh acidities here that add juice while avoiding being over the top; Harvest 20 September to October 8. Owned by the Casteja family since 2021, first vintage under the new team 2022, introduced cold soaks and gentle extractions.

Grilled oak a little dominant on the nose, but there are attractive raspberry leaf aromatics and soft red fruits. SAS Vin Plus owners here, a Chinese group who are continuing to invest in the vineyard, and its northerly Médoc location is benefitting from a series of riper summers, ensuring that it delivers more consistent quality. 30% new oak for ageing, Nathalie Billard winemaker, working with Derencourt Consultants.

Made from 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc, and 3% Petit Verdot, the 2022 Peyrabon is deep garnet-purple in color. It rolls out with expressive notes of blackberry preserves, warm cassis, and plum preserves, plus hints of damp soil and mossy tree bark. The medium-bodied palate is coated with ripe black berries and earthy flavors with a soft texture and lifted finish.

The 2020 Peyrabon is deep garnet-purple in color. It rolls out with notes of black and red cherries, mulberries, and pencil lead, plus a fragrant waft of lavender. Medium-bodied, the palate is bright and breezy with crunchy fruit, soft tannins and a lively finish.
