Opaque garnet in colour. Somewhat muted on the nose, low intensity secondary aroma. Smells of dark cherries, blackberry, leather, tobacco, figs, oak, some vanilla and a hint of sage hiding in the back. Again, somewhat muted still after 2 hours in the carafe. 

Secondary taste characteristics. Tastes of cherries, blackberry, leather, dark plums, some nuttiness and tobacco with a vanilla hint at the back-end. 

This wine is very dry with a medium acidity. The wine is full-bodied with loads of tannins, and a medium(+) alcohol. Medium(+) flavour intensity. Fine balance, this wine needs quite a lot of time in the cellar before it’s ready in my opinion. At this point oak and tannins dominate and overshadows the fruit, makes it somewhat uninteresting at this point. It’s fine structured none the less and it has loads of potential. Long finish.
