Medium intensity bright cherry fruit, tannins a little hard, but overall this has charm and lift, and a good dollop of white pepper spice, enjoyable overall, a success in the vintage. Harvest 25 September to October 5, 16 months ageing, 25% new oak between 225l and 300l oak barrels, Jenan Darriet owner.

A blend of 58% Cabernet Sauvignon and 42% Merlot, the 2023 Seguin has a deep garnet-purple color. Notes of fresh blackcurrants and Morello cherries shoot from the glass, followed by hints of rose bud tea, wild sage, and underbrush. The medium-bodied palate is fresh and pure, with approachable, grainy tannins and a lively line, finishing with a perfumed lift.

Love the subtle smoky character, adding a caress to the roses, violets, cassis and pomegranate. They have managed to tease out freshness and complexity, and this stands out for its vivid fruit character. Stéphane Derenoncourt consultant. A value pick, aged in 33% new oak, 33% 300l casks, and the rest in one and two year old barrels.
