A blend of 60% Semillon and 40% Sauvignon Blanc, Le G de Guiraud 2023 is a little closed and subdued to start, offering glimpses at green apples and lime juice, with touches of crushed stones and dill seed. The light to medium-bodied palate is tightly knit and delicate, with a racy backbone and white pepper on the finish.

Blek gulgrønn. Ganske aromatisk med lime, grønne epler og litt reduktivitet. Medium til høy syre. Litt fylde, ikke særlig kompleks, men med noenlunde intensitet og lengde. Det svinger av hvite viner fra Bordeaux for tiden, men denne var ikke helt der oppe.

Amateur

Thoroughly enjoyable wine, although worth noting that Guiraud has now introduced a dry white wine in the range that sits above this one. The original is still great though - ripe but reserved, just at the right level of white peach and pear, tiny kick of fennel. A buy. 

Inside Bordeaux

A blend of 53% Sauvignon Blanc and 47% Semillon, the 2022 Le G de Chateau Guiraud bursts with expressive notions of apple butter, nectarines, and baker's yeast, plus wafts of honeysuckle and mandarin peel. The medium-bodied palate delivers soft acidity and plenty of ripe apple and stone fruit flavors, finishing on a yeasty note.

Amatør

Touch of reduction, with flint and gunsmoke adding focus and interest. Stands out for its grip and tension and a feeling of depth to the stone and citrus fruit. Touches of green apple and gooseberry also.
