The 2021 Penfolds Bin 28 Shiraz comes from McLaren Vale, Barossa Valley, Padthaway, Wrattonbully, and Clare Valley and was aged for 12 months in American oak, of which 7% was new. It is deep garnet-purple in color and tumbles from the glass with open-knit notes of stewed black plums, blackberry preserves, and juicy black cherries, followed by touches of wild sage, black pepper, and damp soil. The full-bodied palate is rich and spicy, with a soft texture and a lively line defining the long, pepper-laced finish.

The 2022 Bin 28 Shiraz was aged for 12 months in seasoned American oak hogsheads. Deep garnet-purple in color, notes of boysenberries, black cherries and fresh raspberries shoot from the glass, followed by touches of anise and tar with a pinch of Sichuan pepper. The medium to full-bodied palate delivers bright, cheery red and black fruit flavors with a lively line and ripe rounded tannins, finishing on a peppery note.
