2019 Chambolle-Musigny by J.F. Mugnier is labeled 13%, and the wine feels exactly like that. The aromatics are ripe and forward, bursting with wild herbs, spiced raspberries, cranberries, and strawberries, accompanied by wild flowers with a hint of smoke and flinty soil minerals.⁠

This dense and layered wine boasts a spine of spicy cherry and raspberry confiture, with notes of smoke and pomegranate lingering on the palate. It takes time to unwind, so giving it an hour to breathe helps.⁠

A great effort indeed! It will continue to improve and integrate over the next 10+ years of cellaring. Personally, I find them much better with maturity. 92+⁠

Fine wine advisor

Rubinrød med hint av mursteinsfarge i kanten. Dyp og konsentrert duft av modne lette bringebær, lett spice, noe hint av sopp, florlett skogbunn. Relativt ren vin. God konsentrasjon, leskende syre. God lengde.

Lukten er bemerkelsesverdig frisk og viser en herlig blanding av røde og mørke kirsebæraromaer som er vakkert supplert med subtile toner av krydder, fiol og anis. På ganen har vinen en glatt og presis smaksprofil med en fin konsentrasjon. Til tross for at frukten er litt på den mørke siden, har den en raffinert karakter som er Chambolle.
