The 2020 Moulin Riche is deep garnet-purple in color. It opens with pronounced notes of crème de cassis, wild blueberries, and juicy blackberries, with suggestions of clove oil, chocolate mint, and tree bark. The medium-bodied palate is busting with spicy black fruit preserves, supported by plush tannins, finishing with impressive length.

20ha property owned by Cuvelier family of Léoville Poyferré since 1920, here proving that this is a family collection of impressive wines. Lovely texture, bright fruit with clarity and cheerful sappy raspberry and cassis fruits. Harvest September 14 to 30, 35hl/h yield, 25% new oak. Winemaker Isabelle Davin, consultant Michel Rolland.

Inside Bordeaux

Vivid summery fruit character, with cheerful ruby red colour, with spice, freshly cut herbs, slate and graphite adding depth and interest. Lovely texture overall but needs a bit of time to soften, suggest four years before drinking. Harvest 24 September to 10 October. 3.62 pH. 26.42hl/ha

The 2023 Moulin Riche is deep garnet-purple in color. It rolls out with ready-to-go notes of stewed black and red plums, mulberries, and raspberries plus hints of dried sage and crushed rocks. The medium-bodied palate is soft textured, with just enough black and red berry flavors and a crisp backbone, finishing on a lingering dried herbs note. The blend is 49% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot, and 18% Petit Verdot, with pH 3.70 and TPI 69.

A blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, and 10% Petit Verdot, the 2022 Moulin Riche erupts from the glass with powerful notes of blackcurrant cordial, preserved plums, and boysenberry preserves, giving way to wafts of rose oil, cloves, and allspice. The medium to full-bodied palate is concentrated with black and blue fruit layers, supported by firm, grainy tannins and just enough freshness, finishing long.

A blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 26% Merlot, and 19% Petit Verdot, the 2021 Moulin Riche is medium to deep garnet-purple in color. It flies out of the glass with bold notions of pomegranate, kirsch, and redcurrant, plus wafts of dried roses and tar. The light to medium-bodied palate is vibrant and refreshing, with a nice chewiness to the tannins adding to the mid-palate, finishing on a floral note.

The 2019 Moulin Riche is composed of 69% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, and 11% Petit Verdot. Deep garnet-purple in color, it opens with notions of chocolate-covered cherries, licorice, and stewed plums, plus hints of fruitcake and spice box. The medium-bodied palate is chewy and just a touch thin, with appealing brightness on the minerally finish.

The 2018 Moulin Riche is deep garnet purple in color. It needs coaxing to reveal notes of warm cassis, plum preserves, and cedar, plus wafts of cloves and unsmoked cigars. Medium-bodied, it is elegant and refreshing in the mouth but just a tad lean and short. 

Mye dypere og lagdelt frukt på nesen. Mørkere toner, blåbær, treverk, mørke bringebær. 

Smak av mørke bringebær og solmodne jordbær. En elegant balanse i vinen. Veldig typisk 2016 årgangen. Nærmest silke, men også pene tanniner.

The 2012 Moulin Riche is medium to deep garnet colored. It flows out with notes of blackberry preserves, blackcurrant cordial, and dark chocolate with touches of star anise and unsmoked cigars. The medium-bodied palate is soft and juicy, delivering youthful black fruits and a peppery lift on the finish. Not overly complicated, but it is holding up well!
