The 2016 Cristal is a blend of 58% Pinot Noir and 42% Chardonnay with 7 grams per liter of dosage. No malo-lactic was performed here, and 31% of the base wines were aged in French oak. The nose begins with bright red berry notes of fresh raspberries and strawberries before opening out to a complex undercurrent of saffron, white chocolate, talc, baker’s yeast, and emerging wafts of citron blossom and pear tart. The palate is very dry and spicy, not needing even a touch more sweetness thanks to the abundance of ripe berry and citrus flavors, delivering beautifully knit acidity and typically tiny, persistent bubbles. It finishes with notes of effervescent chalkiness and saffron flowers, leaving you reaching for another sip.

Amateur

The 2015 Cristal is a blend of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay. No malo-lactic was employed, and 25% wine was aged in oak. The dosage is 7 grams per liter. An exquisitely delicate yet complex perfume of clover honey, freshly shaved ginger, marzipan, and jasmine slowly emerges from the nose, giving way to a core of pear tart, persimmons, and apple butter. The palate is an exercise in finesse, featuring very fine bubbles and fantastic intensity with a myriad of spice and floral nuances, finishing with impressive persistence and jaw-dropping poise. This is a style for those that embrace purity, soft-spoken expression, and impeccable crafting. It won't disappoint those who love Champagne in its initial youthful perfume flushes, yet will undoubtedly reward the patient with a richer, toastier, more obvious and opulent style with 5-10 years+ of cellaring.

Fackin hell! Lys gul på farge. Dominerende lukt av bakte epler og bakt sitron. Frisk og fruktig med mye smak av fersken og bakte epler med god syre og en utrolig lengde! 

Amatør

It is very early to drink this, but it is interesting to see how it is. The nose has yellow fruit, sea, oysters, kelp, salt and minerals. The smell is wonderfully appealing. The palate has a lovely mousse, fruit like lemon, minerals and good acidity. It is almost weightless. The finish is very long. Incredibly great wine that was nice to drink now, but which also has a great future potential. 95 points with clear upside.

Gul på farge, klar og ren. Epler, sitrus, aprikos boller på duft. Elegant, delikat, fine bobler, sitrusdreven lang lengde. Presis og lekker. Intens og balansert. 

Certified Sommelier

Deep golden. Intense nose of mushroom, moss, nougat, walnut, lemon and pastry. Medium+ acidity and body with additional flavours of caramel, almond and lime. Excellent long lasting tiny bubbles. Very rich, complex and balanced with a long+ finish. 

WSET 2

The nose is light, porous and intensely fruity with yellow apples, apricots and oranges. There is also honey. The autolysis is elegant and appealing with brioche and mocha. It is also very mineral. 

The palate is medium-bodied, porous, silky and intensely fruity. It is very mineral and acidic in a nice balance. The finish is long and acidic. 

It is a brilliant wine which is fine to drink now, but which should get another 10 years in the cellar. TW96

Baked Lemon, yellow apple smoke, minerals, vanilla, lemon zest, orange, brioche, canned peach, salt and raspberry. Really high quality champagne. Fantastic balance, both delicate and rich with lovely fruit. 

Lys strågul på farge, klar og ren med ørsmå bobler i en lekker mousse. 
Det dufter delikat av mandler, epler, lime og hvit sjokolade. 
Vinen har høy syre og i munnen får vi en vin med medium kropp, behagelig mineralsk og «chalky» karakter. Ettersmaken er lang med frisk og kremete tekstur. 
En helt topp vin! 

Gyllen strågul farge. Frisk, imøtekommende og elegant på nesen. Meget små og delikate bobler. Dufter av modne gule epler, bakte sitrusskall, hint av bananskall, brioche, smør og røstede nøtter. Kremet og deilig mousse.  Drikker utrolig godt nå. En elegant pærle av en champagne som jeg tror det er lenge til jeg får smake igjenn. Lengden er den beste jeg har opplevd hittil. Legendarisk vin!

Smørbukk, moden aprikos, flott modning, aprikosdrops, pen sitrende syre, kandisert appelsin

Perfekt moden Cristal, lys farge, marsipan, tørket aprikos, lett mousse, men nok, medium pluss syre, usikker på dosage nivå, men føler det var en del tidligere, ikke søt nå, men får et kandisert steinfrukt preg som jeg bare synes er pent, ikke den største årgangen og vinen, men en flott moden Cristal er alltid en fin opplevelse.

Korken brakk i halsen. Null trykk eller synlig fizz. På munn noe mer sprudlende. Veier opp med imponerende syre, konsentrasjon og intens tropisk frukt. Subtil sødme. Akkurat denne flasken var nok bedre for 5-10 år siden, og det finnes helt sikkert bedre varianter, men likevel en strålende++ vin.
