Great QPR. Not much complexity. Medium+ acidity, medium body and intensity. A well made Syrah that is quite cold in style, low alcohol.
Today’s pairing: Rack of lamb with mashed celery root and potato purée + oven baked vegetables. Decent match.

Last bottle - still available at VMP. Bought this for traditional Christmas dinner some years ago. Dark Straw yellow color. Medium+ length and super concentration. Just the right amount of residual sugar to match schweinshaxe with german fermented sauerkraut and traditional beer gravy. Perfect match 🥂

Well made Albariño. Lean and buttery mouthfeel with medium(+) intensity. Love the maturity in this wine - 30 months on lees in steeltanks. Bottled in 2023. Lemon, herbs and a beautiful minerality.
Today’s pairing: Modernized version of Norwegian mutton in cabbage stew … works better than expected, but this wine will be even better with white fish and butter based sauce.

Positive experience 🥂 First sparkling I have tasted from Australia (Tasmania). Creamy, Dry & Crispy with medium(-) body and length. Blend of different vintages and grapes. This one contains 59% Chardonnay, 35% Pinot Noir and 6% Pinot Meunier. Winery is located appx. 14 hour south of Melbourne by ferry. Cold climate with an average temperature between 13-25 degrees Celsius over 12 months.
Citrus, ripe apples. Missing some fruit intensity, minerality and length.
ABV: 12%, RS: 5.8 g/l, TA: 8.4 g/l

White wine made on red grapes. 66% Pinot Noir and 34% Pinot Meuiner. Ripe red apples, rhubarb and some grapefruit bitterness. High acidity that gives a decent balance with the residual sugar. Medium+ length and intensity. Need some air, and best when chilled. I think the wine felt more like a BdN Champagne that had lost its bubbles when getting warmer.
Today’s pairing: Shellfish (shrimps). For me this was not a perfect match. For this food I still prefer a dry Chardonnay with low oak usage or a BdB Champagne adding some more freshness. This wine might work better to a bit more spicy food like pepper-crab.

Smooth & Elegant with fine grained tannins. Dark fruit, pepper, forest floor. This is a good vintage - quite cold in style. Well balanced with a bit pronounced acidity that is perfect for food. Young, will get better with age.
Today’s Pairing: Norwegian Raindeer stew. Just perfect. Would be lovely pairing to grouse and other game/venison.

Good QPR. Light bodied and well balanced. 100% Muscadet from Bourgogne. Smells of Citrus & green apples. Today’s Pairing: scampi with a tomato based sauce & pasta(risoni). Just perfect 🥂
